What to do with all those clam shells?

I have accumulated quite a collection of the plastic clamshells that the stamps are mailed in over the last year, as I am sure many of you have. They come in handy for storing embellishments and other items, but there are still so many left.
At the beginning og the school year I made my daughter a dry erase board for her basketball locker from one of the larger clamshells. Many of her friends started asking for them so we decided to make some more for Christmas gifts.

For the front cover I used a paper cut 8 11/16 inches x 5 15/16 inches and rounded the corners. This will fit right inside of the lid under the little edges, it will stay on it's own, but if you attach anything else inside the cover, as I did on the example below, you will want to adhere it first. The paper on the opposite side is 8 3/16 x 5 6/16 inches with the corners rounded. You will have to adhere this securely if you are attaching the notepad like I did.

I used microbeads to cover a regular dry erase marker and attached it with a thin ribbon. Four heavy duty round magnets were adhered to the back of the clam shel using Zip Dry glue (works great and dries fast) so it can be hung in the lockers.

On the example below I used four ID badge holders on the inside cover for pictures and also made four flat marble magnets to match it.

Clear Snowman Nativity

Christmas is almost here, it's time to get those Christmas cards mailed out if you haven't done so already.

This is the last Christmas card I made for this year and my favorite by far. I just love the "Snowman Nativity" stamp set from The Angel Company (T-2692).

As you can see I only mounted the inside pieces,
then by lining up the images on the clear acrylic the front image also appears to be mounted.

The greeting on the inside of the card is from TAC stamp set "Trendy Greetings" (T-2144).

I did a tutorial and challenge for this card on one of my cafe mom groups this weekend

I am going to post some of my other Christmas cards I made. These were posted on my old blog and thought I would share them again for the new visitors.

The stamps used on this card were also from the "Snowman Nativity" stamp set
I used a Gelly Roll glitter pen on the wings, one of my favorite tools in my supplies.

Stamps from the sets "Just Dream" (T-2953) and ") and "Joy of Christmas" (T-2962). The background of the red card was also stamped with versamark and a snowflake stamp from "Spirit of Christmas" (T-2685).
Used that Gelly Roll glitter pen here on the angels wings again.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

My Test Posting

I thought I would check out how things work on this blogsite by posting one of my all time favorite mini books I did. Many of you have seen this book of mine before from my old blog, but you never saw the cover.

This is the view of the book tied closed.
The saying on the front reads "The laughter of a child is the light of a house" and is from a retired TAC stamp set.
I also used stamps from TAC sets "Spring Dream" and "Tag Tidbits".
Inks: Cotton White Opaque Stazon and Noir Palette
I took these pictures of my girls in black and white, so I decided to stick with those colors for the whole book. Of course I had to add some bling with silver stickles. I just love how it turned out.
I guess I should have tied the ribbons up for the above pictures, the picture below shows the cover and the ribbons tied up in the open position.

Well, there you go!! So, what have I learned from this first posting.
1. I should make the pictures larger
2.Place the pics with text next to them
3.Learn to take better pictures
The first two I can fix with settings before loading the pics, the last one may require a little more skills.
Anyways I am very excited about this blog and have some projects that I have been eager to try. With extra time off work for the holidays I should be able to get some more time to work on them. Make sure to enter your email address in the box on the upper right side of the blog to subscribe.
Please comment and let me know if there is anything that you can think of to make the blog better along the way.

Moving here soon

I will be getting ready to move my stamp blog here officially at the start of the new year. I am going to try before that, we will see how busy I am with the holidays coming up. Currently I have a yahoo 360 blog for my stamping, but it is very very very limited in what I can do.

I am going to make one post here in the next day or two in order to get everything formatted and set up how I want it. Remember the stand up accordian album I made a few months back, the black, white and gray one? Well, I finally got around to finishing the cover for it. It took me two times. I was so loving the first cover I did until I opened the album and found it was upside down. That was a rough lesson!! So, I covered it up redid the cover. I am going to post that one here for you again so you can see my cover and because that is my totally favorite mini album so far. I will be able to post you all the photos of it in one blog instead of the one photo that yahoo 360 allows.

One more thing I will have that I could not do on yahoo 360 was to have a way for you to subscribe to the blog so I won't have to send an email out to you each time I post. That will be done automatically.

Hope to see everyone here soon!!
